John Quintero is an internationally acclaimed professional travel, cultural and documentary photographer, founder of John Quintero Expeditions, a travel company specialising in photographic expeditions and workshops in Asia, Africa, Central and South America.
John worked for the BBC and Viasat Broadcasting UK for several years as a picture editor before becoming a full-time travel photographer.
John has worked in collaboration with tourist boards and brands, creating unique and engaging campaigns and his travel images have brought him international recognition, among others: first prize in the World Water Day International Photography Competition in 2020, second prize, professional, sports category at the Sony World Photography Awards in 2014, first prize in National Geographic Traveller UK Magazine Photo Competition in 2015, a gold medal in the Press Professional category from the Prix de La Photographie de Paris PX3 and a silver medal (People’s Choice) in the Press Professional category in 2013. He has also been shortlisted in two different categories for the prestigious Travel Photographer of The Year in 2012.
His images have been published digitally and in print by UNESCO, GQ, The Times, the BBC, National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, The Telegraph, Die Welt, Nikon Pro Magazine, Nikon France, The Guardian, Metro, Photo Pro, Digital Camera and in educational books around the world. His work has been featured in campaigns for American Express, Nike and several airlines magazines as well as on national television in the UK.
John has visited more than 50 countries, documenting cultures, ancient traditions and the story of people living in challenging and remote areas of the planet.
